Breech of contract
Not once...  but several times
By nature I’m old fashioned, where my word is my bond, but because BSO was a legal corporation in the state of Wisconsin we needed a written contract.  I figured that Bernie was a man of his word and held the same values, but from the very beginning things were not going well.

One of the first things that needed to be taken care of was the transfer of who was paying all the BSO bills.  This was the major reason I had to get rid of BSO (it was no longer possible for me to pay for it), yet the transfer took just short of a YEAR!

The first payment went fine, but the next payment was over 3 months late, and I had to provide them with a waver promising not to sue them for being late before they would make the even later payment.  This was unacceptable for me because the contract did not allow for late payments, so I had to made special arrangements to have surgery performed (burn related, but not covered by my insurance) and to pay the bill on a predetermined date (about 2 weeks after the payment due date).  My payment due date came and Bernie would not even respond to emails, and even after I emailed him 2 weeks prior to the due date as a reminder.  There I was with no way to pay my medical bill,  and no payment in sight.

This was the second breech of contract and already the bill collectors were at my door.  I sold BSO (something I spent 10 years working on) to prevent this from happening, yet it seemed that making payment was something that Bernie never intended to do.

When it came time for the third payment Bernie waited until the payment due date and a lawyer contacted me and stated that I will not receive any additional payments.  The final two payments were (per Bernie) claimed by Denise Hurley and I was to not contact him again or face a lawsuit.

Now making any such claim is not possible because the Wisconsin Corporate Bylaws prevented just such an occurrence, nevertheless I then needed to hire an attorney which took me many months to obtain the funds. I saw my attorney showed him all the corporate paperwork, correspondence from Bernie, his lawyer, and Denise and my lawyer saw it as being a simple case that either they pay, or lose BSO. But my lawyer insisted that it was not a ploy as I suggested getting away with only paying half the BSO money, it was engineered by Denise to get a hold of my money.  I told my lawyer that that was not even a remote possibility!  She was my best friend and I was even taking care of her son (Sean) at the time so he could go to school in the USA.

With no money coming in and no job I could no longer support Sean (Teenagers are expensive, and I was paying for food, clothing, and anything else a teen needs) I knew my best chance of getting a job would be in three months, so I contacted Denise to see if she would allow Sean to stay with someone else for a bit until I can get things stabilized as everything depended on the payment from Bernie.
Not for duplication
